ORIGINAL MIXED MEDIA FLORAL PAINTING
All Dressed Up and Ready to Go celebrates an abundant garden bouquet bursting with life and color. A joyful explosion of flowers in every hue - hot pink, coral, burgundy, golden yellow, and deep purple - all gathered together in exuberant celebration.
The bouquet overflows with personality. Deep magenta and crimson blooms anchor the arrangement while pops of orange marigolds and sunny yellows add warmth. Purple and violet flowers bring depth. White blossoms scattered throughout add lightness and movement. Lush green ferns and foliage frame it all. The terracotta vase grounds this festive gathering. I built up layers of paint and pastel to capture that abundant energy. The painting radiates celebration and joy.

BACKSTORY & PAINTING PROCESS
I gathered this bouquet with celebration in mind - the kind of arrangement you'd bring to a party or place on the table for a special dinner. Every color I could find: zinnias, dahlias, cosmos, roses, marigolds, that deep burgundy one that's almost black. Ferns and eucalyptus for texture. I arranged them in a simple terracotta pot and let them spill out naturally, loose and unstructured.
I painted this in my loose signature style. Started with that moody charcoal gray background to make the colors sing. Then I dove into the palette: magenta, tangerine, golden yellow, plum, crimson, coral. So many colors mixing and playing together. The terracotta pot keeps it earthy and grounded. Graphite adds definition. Pastel highlights bring those final pops of light. The last step was to add several coats of archival varnish.
This painting brings instant energy to a room. It's that feeling of getting ready for something special, of abundance and anticipation. The rich color palette and loose, confident brushwork keep it sophisticated, never cluttered. All Dressed Up and Ready to Go works beautifully in dining rooms, entryways, and living spaces that need a burst of color and life.
