Blue Room in Harlem

Poet Marina Tsvetaeva wrote, “My desk, most loyal friend, thank you. You've been with me on every road I've taken. My scar and my protection.”

The blue room with the writing desk of celebrity designer, Sheila Bridges, wrapped me like a warm blanket – approachable, calm and comforting.

Sheila Bridges, aka @harlemtoilegirl knows a thing or two about creating rooms with color that evoke emotion. She is also well-known for her toile, which incorporates all black characters depicting stereotypes, like eating watermelon and playing basketball. It’s so smart.
