Buckley the Dog is from my Party Animals series, a cast of characters who celebrate life in all its joyful beauty. They remind us that joy is a choice we get to make every single day.

HIS WORLD

Buckley the Dog has the kind of face people trust immediately.

Beneath his white party hat, he sits quietly against a backdrop of open fields and distant horses grazing in the background, calm and observant without demanding attention. He is the sort of dog who would follow you from room to room, then settle nearby while you read the paper or finish your coffee.

I loved painting the contrast between Buckley's thoughtful expression and the loose, atmospheric countryside surrounding him. The shifting sky, earthy greens, and soft brushwork give the painting warmth and softness, while his caramel markings and bright white coat bring light to the center of the composition.

He is part of my Party Animals series, a collection of animals wearing party hats, each one painted with a mix of humor, personality, and tenderness.
