Camille the Dancing Pig believes Tuesday evenings are meant for grand jetés. The dishes and laundry can wait.
She has taken the same ballet class for three years and still feels a flutter of excitement when the music begins. She stands at the barre, pink tutu catching the studio light, already waiting for the final run across the floor. The grand jeté comes at the end. Camille runs, lifts, and reaches for a little more air than she did the week before. She lands, breath quick, eyes bright, and steps back into line.
I painted Camille with bold, flowing brushstrokes that mirror her movement through space. The soft pinks and bold brushstrokes bring her joyful leap to life.
