Cecil the Sheep stays up long after the rest of the flock has settled into the meadow. He has a wool blanket, a thermos of chamomile, and a notebook where he logs every constellation he can find. He has named a few of his own. The Little Teapot. The Crooked Fence. One he simply calls Gerald, after his grandfather, who first taught him to look up. On clear nights, he sets his party hat beside him and stays so still the stars seem to lean in closer.
