I discovered a magnificent display at a botanical garden. Bold burgundy poppies commanded attention. Delicate pink roses provided elegant contrast. Tiny purple and blue blooms created a perfect balance. The arrangement stopped me in my tracks.
Back in the studio, those same flowers revealed their quiet magic. Light softened their edges. Burgundy deepened to rich velvet. Pink glowed with a golden warmth. Blue flickered like scattered gems. Flourish captures that exact moment of awe—the feeling of being completely immersed in beauty.
My process begins with careful observation. I sketch from life using vine charcoal. Bold acrylic strokes establish form and energy. Graphite adds definition. Pastel highlights bring dimension. Multiple varnish layers protect and preserve.
