For Juliette the Dancing Pig, the curtsy is every bit as important as the dance itself.

At the end of each combination, she steps forward gracefully, one trotter extended, chin lifted slightly beneath her polka dotted party hat. The music fades, but Juliette stays in position a moment longer, savoring the performance before drifting lightly toward the next dance.

The studio lights suit her beautifully.

I loved painting the movement in her tutu, the soft layers of pink catching light against the cool blue-gray background. Her pose feels weightless and balanced, full of energy and elegance at the same time.

She's part of my Party Animals series, a collection of animals wearing party hats, each one painted with a mix of humor and tenderness.

The background is a soft atmospheric wash of pale blue-gray and lavender, allowing Juliette's blush pink tutu and warm rosy tones to glow at center stage.
