I painted Luminous Blooms on one of those rare afternoons when the light does something unexpected. It caught the flowers just right, turning the crimson petals translucent and warming the pinks from within. I worked quickly, layering loose strokes to hold onto that fleeting quality before it disappeared.
This 6x6-inch oil on hardboard is about color as much as light. Deep reds anchor the composition while soft pinks and flashes of yellow create movement across the surface. The brushwork stays loose and gestural because I wanted to keep that sense of immediacy, the feeling of discovery rather than getting lost in botanical details.
The painting arrives in a handcrafted white birch floater frame, wired and ready to hang. The archival varnish protects the layers while bringing out the color. It works well in intimate spaces: a kitchen wall, a reading corner, that spot you pass every morning. Small paintings like this hold their ground quietly. They're there when you need a sense of happy.
