ORIGINAL MIXED MEDIA FLORAL PAINTING
Sunshine Day is pure summer energy. Golden sunflowers, bold coral blooms, and pink roses bursting from a turquoise vase. Big, loose, happy flowers that light up any room.
Buttery sunflowers steal the show with their dark centers and warm golden petals. Coral and hot pink blooms add punch. Lavender roses and blue delphiniums cool things down. That gorgeous teal vase anchors the whole arrangement. I built up layers of acrylic and pastel to get that loose, lively feeling. The whole painting radiates warmth and joy.

BACKSTORY & PAINTING PROCESS
I painted this on one of those perfect summer days when everything feels golden. Sunflowers were everywhere at the market. Big, happy, impossible to resist. I grabbed an armload and mixed them with whatever else caught my eye: coral zinnias, pink roses, stems of blue delphinium. Arranged them in my favorite teal vase and the colors just sang.
I painted this in my loose signature style. Started with washes of teal and blue for the background. Then I went in with the yellows: goldenrod, honey, amber, sunlit butter. The corals and pinks came next, then those moody little lavender roses. Pastel brings the texture and glow. The last step was to add several coats of archival varnish.
This painting feels like summer at its peak. The mix of warm sunflower gold and cool teal gives it that happy, balanced energy. The loose style keeps it fresh and alive. Sunshine Day works beautifully in living rooms, kitchens, and anywhere that needs a shot of color and joy.
